He added, Hamas says, “With the help of Allah, al-Qassam killed, wounded and captured an entire elite unit of the Zionist army”. The user shared the picture on his post and also wrote “”Israeli forces lose contact with forces attempting to enter Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza”. In actuality, this picture was taken in November 2013. It is not from the current conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Five soldiers were injured and four Hamas gunmen were killed when an explosive device planted by Hamas blew up. The IDF was there to demolish a tunnel that was located within the Gaza Strip.
We visited THE TIMES OF ISRAEL, who published an article on this incident on Nov 1, 2013. The same picture was attached in the article with the headline “4 Hamas gunmen killed, 5 soldiers injured in clash at ‘terror tunnel’ “. On October 31, 2013, wounded Israeli soldiers were brought to the Soroka hospital in Beersheba. Five soldiers were killed, according to the IDF, when an explosive device exploded while forces were removing a tunnel that Hamas had dug into Israel from the Gaza Strip.
