Prime Minister Narendra Modi is heard criticising reservation policy in a brief video clip that is making the rounds.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @ssrajputINC tweeted “What is Modi ji saying? “They are against any kind of reservation? Not in the job at all? What is happening in BJP?” on Feb 7, 2024. The tweet has received an about 209.3k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @vinayrk667788, @subhashpathak, @the_yadav1, @ns0410088, @rahulraip_inc, @omprakash7711 made the same claim that Narendra Modi stated in Rajya Sabha that he is against the reservation policy. In actuality, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reading a letter written by the late Jawaharlal Nehru, who stated, “‘I dislike any kind of reservation, more particularly in services. I am strongly against anything which leads to inefficiency and second rate standards.” . It is untrue and unfounded to say that this is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s viewpoint.
