Patna, Bihar — Digitally Altered Old Image Falsely Linked To Jan Vishwas Rally: Fact-Check 

An image of Patna’s Gandhi Maidan congested and overcrowded has been posted, claiming to be from the INDIA Alliance rally.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @mrs_roh08 claimed that the picture shows the overcrowded Patna’s Gandhi Maidan from the INDIA Alliance rally. The tweet was made on March 3, 2024, which has received an about 489.7k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @Supriya23bh, @Jeetuburdak, @ZakirAliTyagi made the same claim that the overcrowded picture from Patna’s Gandhi Maidan is from the INDIA Alliance rally. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

The image is old and has been digitally altered. Following his Gandhi Maidan rally in 2017, Lalu Prasad Yadav released this modified image. It has nothing to do with the INDIA Alliance’s rally in Patna.

@ANI tweeted “RJD’s Patna rally: Picture taken from same point where Lalu Prasad Yadav’s purported picture was taken; crowd sizes are different.” on August 27, 2017.

The modified image was shared in a tweet by @laluprasadrjd on August 27, 2017. It wrote “No “Face” will stand in front of Lalu’s “Base”. Come & Count as much as u can in Gandhi Maidan, Patna #DeshBachao“.

We visited Times of India, which clarifed the authencity of this incident and wrote about this on August 28, 2017. It wrote in the caption “Social Humour: Lalu trolled over posting photoshopped image of large crowd in his rally”. The image was purportedly taken at massive Anti-BJP rally organized by RJD in Patna.

Lalu Prasad Yadav shared this altered image following his rally at Gandhi Maidan in 2017. It has nothing to do with the INDIA Alliance’s Patna rally.
