A piece of a newspaper has been circulating on various social media platforms, especially on Twitter, the headline of the newspaper reads fearing the miscreants, more than 10 Dalit families decided to leave the village. The News circulated on social media with the claim that Dalit families were leaving houses because of miscreants in Jamalpur village of Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Here are the facts about the incident.

The piece of the newspaper has been shared by several users on various social media platforms claiming that about 10 Dalit families are forced to leave their ancestral village because of miscreants. The domineering people of the village thrash them and force them to do whatever they want. The miscreants make them walk with their heads down when passing in front of their houses.The incident was reported from the Jamalpur village under Talbehat police station in the Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Research, Analysis and Fact

To verify the claims made by the newspaper, we started an Investigation to find out the truth, during research we found a police statement on the official Twitter account of Lalitpur police, according to the police on 14 July 2023 an FIR was registered under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act(SC/ST Act), 1989 against three accused for beating a man named Maniram. In this case, action was taken against all the accused. Police have visited the village and confirmed that the news was being reported that Dalit families leaving houses in the Jamalpur village under Talbehat police station in Lalitpur district is false and baseless. Print media outlets covered the news with false claims and misinformation propaganda accounts helped them to spread the news on social media to set their narrative.
