FACT: 1897 King Leopold brought 270 Congloneseans to his Belgium estate to create mocked African village. Then Congo was Belgian colony. In 1958 mocked village was recreated for the Brussels world’s fair to demonstrate difference in life styles-cultures.

Intent: Few ill-informed social media user sharing historical picture mentioning it as “human zoo” and trying to create a narrative involving oppression involved race.
