A picture of a burning car has gone viral, accompanied by the false assertion that it is from The Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) “Operation Dara-e-Bolan” in Balochistan’s Mach and Bolan regions.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @RealBababanaras tweeted “|| Operation Dara-e-Bolan || A massive attack on Pakistani Occupational forces, the first of its kind in #Balochistan, has seen railway stations, police stations, and military outposts occupied by Baloch Fighters within hours.” on Jan 30, 2024. What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this photo was taken during a terrorist attack at the Serena Hotel in Quetta in 2021. It is not related to the current conflict.

We visited the quint, which published an article on this incident on April 22, 2021 with the headline “4 Killed, Dozens Injured in Blast at Hotel in Pakistan’s Quetta”.
