Fact-Check of the Viral Statement by Shri Harmandir Sahib

Our research revealed that there was no such statement on the official website or social media accounts of Shri Harmandir Sahib. In fact, we found a different statement by the SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) supporting a wrestlers’ protest. The layout of this authentic statement was not similar to the viral one, further confirming that the viral statement was fabricated. The SGPC, the apex religious body that manages Sikh shrines, has its unique format for official communications, which differs significantly from the counterfeit statement.
