Karimganj, Assam — Video Of Mock Poll Falsely Circulated as Actual Poll, General Elections 2024: Fact-Check 

A video has gone viral showing a government official continuously pressing the EVM button in front of the Lotus, the BJP’s electoral emblem,  and is projected as the government officials are fraudulently voting for BJP.

@ArvindY07567923 added “See how Bhasmasur Party is being made to cross 400. Look at the naked dance of corruption in the festival of democracy. Send tribute flowers to the Central Elections Commission.” in a twitter post on April 29, 2024.

Several other accounts, including @DeependraSonkar, @tanmoyofc, Neha Singh Rathore made the same claim that government official continuously was pressing the EVM button in front of the Lotus, BJP’s election symbol. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

These assertions are false and unfounded. The Karimganj District Election Officer claims that this video was merely shot during a mock poll and has nothing to do with the real poll. No procedural violations occurred during the actual conduct of the poll. So, the claim that a government official was pressing the EVM button repeatedly in front of BJP’s election symbol (Lotus) is not true at all.

These are unfounded and fraudulent assertions. This footage was only shot during a mock poll, according to the Karimganj District Election Officer, and it has nothing to do with the real poll.
