Fact Check: No, a 21-Year-Old Man Did Not Marry His 65-Year-Old Grandmother—Viral Claim Is False

Images of a young man and an older woman are being widely circulated online with the claim that 21-year-old Mohammad Irfan from Haryana married his 65-year-old maternal grandmother, Sultana Khatoon. However, these images are not from a real wedding—this is staged content from a scripted video.

A social media account, @TimesAlgebraIND, posted the following claim:

BIG NEWS 🚨
21-year-old Mohammad Irfan from Haryana married his own grandmother, Sultana Khatoon.
After her husband’s passing, Sultana had been living alone, with Irfan staying by her side to offer care and support. With time, their relationship is said to have deepened, ultimately resulting in marriage.

another propagandist account @Meghttps://archive.ph/sxEFyhUpdates, posted this same image and claim:

Sultana had been living alone after the death of her husband, and Irfan had been staying with her to provide care and support. Over time, their bond reportedly grew stronger, eventually leading to marriage.

Several other users @TrumpUpdateHQ@DeepikaBhardwaj@ImtiazMadmood, @MithilaWaala @KarnatakaIndex9 amplified this narrative across social media platforms, misrepresenting fictional content as real news.

The Truth Behind the Claim

When the claim gained traction, it caught our attention. The D Intent Data Team. We launched an investigation, conducting reverse image searches using Google Lens and performing keyword analysis. Our findings revealed that the images originate from a scripted video uploaded in November 2022 on the Facebook and YouTube channels Desi Choora Ke Vlogs and Desi Choora 2.0. These platforms produce staged, fictional content purely for entertainment purposes. The original video includes a clear disclaimer stating that it is fictional.

Our investigation confirms that the viral claim is false and stems from misrepresented or staged content circulated to push a misleading narrative.
