Pakistani propaganda accounts are circulating a video of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi with self-invented claims. The posts allege that he admitted Pakistan monitored every Indian military movement through satellites and that this surveillance caused significant damage to India last year. This claim is false and fabricated. General Dwivedi did not say that Pakistan caused damage to India through satellite monitoring.
The misleading claim was shared by Pakistani propaganda accounts @TacticalTribun and @ZardSi, which presented the statement as an “admission” by the Indian Army Chief to mislead audiences.

Truth: Army Chief Spoke About Deterrence, Not Damage
As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research. Our analysis led us to the official @ANI social media account, which published the full, unedited statement of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi during his briefing on Operation Sindoor.
#WATCH | Delhi: On Operation Sindoor, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi says, "The first turning point was the 22-minute strike we carried out on the terror targets. The same remarks were also uploaded in full on verified YouTube channels, including ANI News and ADGPI – INDIAN ARMY, under titles such as “Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi holds annual press conference – 2026 | Operation Sindoor” and extended Q&A sessions explaining the operation. In the authentic footage, General Dwivedi explains that on 10 May, coordinated instructions were issued to all three services in case the conflict escalated. He states that Pakistan had satellite visibility of Indian military movements and, after assessing India’s preparedness, decided to halt further escalation.

Importantly, he does not say that Pakistan caused damage to India, nor does he describe satellite monitoring as a weakness or loss. The remarks focus on deterrence, preparedness, and strategic signalling, not on any admission of military damage.
