A video has surfaced online depicting a fight amongst a group of people on a road; it purports to show a Hindu girl who was tricked into converting to Islam by engaging in love jihad and making her obscene videos.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @Vini__007 tweeted “In West Bengal, a Hindu girl converted to Islam by making love jihad and obscene videos. When the girl’s father filed a case in the court, the Hindu girl refused to recognize her Hindu mother and called her mother an infidel. Later, when she was unable to bring her daughter back, the mother fainted and the girl comfortably sat in the car and went away. The Muslim making the recording is very happy to have brought down an infidel. Sanatanis, teach your children the tradition, dignity and sanskar of Sanatan culture. Stop becoming western civilization-modernity-modern, otherwise the sanskars will be destroyed.” on Feb 6, 2024. The tweet has received an about 85.3k views on X.

Several other twitter accounts made the same misleading claim, including @Modified_Hindu9, @dsrajpurohit291, @highcourtallad. All of them made the same claim and their viral tweets contributed to the spread of the information. The archive can be read from above.

Also, other claims were made regarding the incident. It was claimed that The Hindu girl called her mother a kaffir and refused to acknowledge her Hindu mother when her father filed a case in the court. RW circulated as Hindu girls in West Bengal, LW extremists circulated as Muslim girl.

The tweet was further reposted by more than 300 user accounts.
