Fact Check: Scripted video of a husband catching his wife with another man in a hotel room falsely portrayed as a real-life incident

A video showing a husband catching his wife with another man in a hotel room is being shared as a real-life incident. However, we found that the video was not a real-life situation but scripted content. The woman in the video is Ankita Karotiya, who creates such scripted content for entertainment and to attract viewers.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), @Highonchoorma wrote, “You may find thousands of enemies but never a disloyal friend”. (Translated from Hindi). Later, she deleted the post.

Propaganda account @NazneenAkhtar23 also shared the video and wrote, “These days, the story of every other wife is like this. First, she cheats on her husband, and then when she is caught with someone else in a hotel, she says, “Why should I tell you. These Sanatani girls have made marriage a joke. In the end, will she ask for alimony, or will she get her husband killed? (Translated from Hindi).

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the video and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here: @ItsRizwanHaider, @seherkhan1989.

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the video was not a real-life situation but scripted content.

To verify the claims made by users and propagandists. We performed a reverse image search of some keyframes from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to a YouTube video containing the same visuals uploaded on the YouTube channel of Ankita Karotiya. The woman in the video is Ankita Karotiya, who creates such scripted content for entertainment and to attract viewers. The description also includes a notice stating, “Permission has been taken from all the people shown in this video to make a video”.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video was not related to a real-life incident, it was scripted.
