Old Image Of Pellet Gun Victim From Kashmir Falsely Linked To Farmers’ Protest 2024: Fact-Check

The image, which is part of an ongoing protest by farmers, shows a man who appears to be a farmer and has been injured by a Pellet gun.

@ShyamMeeraSingh tweeted “It is becoming difficult to even see this picture. This picture is of a boy injured in the farmers’ movement.” on Feb 24, 2024. The tweet has received an about more than 4k views on X.


Several other accounts, including @saraaltafkhan, @AdnanAliKhan555 made the same claim that the photo from the ongoing farmers protest is shared along with the assertion that the person hurt by the pellet gun is a farmer. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

The truth is that the current farmers’ protest has nothing to do with this old photo from Kashmir, where Mohammad Imran Parray was injured in 2016 after being struck by pellets during a protest. It was captured by Fayaz Wani.
