No, This Video Doesn’t Show Telugu Cinema Star Allu Arjun Campaigning For Congress: Fact-Check 

It has been claimed that Telugu movie actor Allu Arjun has announced his support for the Congress party in the current “general elections 2024” after witnessing a video of him doing a roadshow.

@Soundofpeoples tweeted “Allu Arjun in the field to honor Congress. @alluarjun#Elections2024” on April 20, 2024. The tweet has received an about 330.8k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @kamaalrkhan, @ManojSh28986262, @abhishek01inc, @salmanmkjw, @Anika_Pan made the same claim that Telugu movie actor Allu Arjun has announced his support for the Congress party in the current “general elections 2024”. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

As the Grand Marshal of the yearly Indian Day parade in August 2022, Allu Arjun represented India in this old footage from New York. The video is not related to the current “general elections 2024” and was not made recently. But in February 2024, his father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy became a member of the Congress. We visited Times of India, which published an article on this incident on August 22, 2022 with the headline “Allu Arjun represents country as Grand Marshal at annual Indian Day parade in New York”. The actor wrote in Instagram “Thank you it was the honour being the Grand Marshal at the  India Day parade in NYC.” Further, for more clarification, we also went to Hindustan Times, which posted on it with the heading “Allu Arjun’s father-in-law joins Congress, quits BRS” on Feb 16, 2024. Four BRS leaders joined the Congress on Friday in Telangana including Allu Arjun’s father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy. Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, the father-in-law of Tollywood actor Allu Arjun, and several other BRS officials who left the party of former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao joined the Congress. In addition to Reddy, former Patnam minister Mahender Reddy joined the Congress, as did former Hyderabad mayor Bonthu Rammohan and his wife Bonthu Sridevi. They were all members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which was Telangana Rashtra Samithi. The video was uploaded in Youtube on August 22, 2022.
