Video Of Drug Smugglers From Bangladesh Resurfaced With Misleading Claims: Fact-Check 

A video depicting security personnel inspecting a man in a burqa has been circulated, detailing how the Pulwama attack occurred. The man was found to be in possession of RDX.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @MithilaWaala tweeted “Those who keep asking , how RDX came to Pulwama … this is how it came” on April 22, 2024. The tweet has received an about 413.3k views on X.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this is an old footage from Chittagong, Bangladesh, where two drug smugglers were apprehended by police in 2021.The video is not related to India and  is not recent at all. So, the claim that it is the video of the security personnel checking a man wearing a burqa has been shared as to how the Pulwama attack happened, and the individual was carrying RDX is not true at all. We visited cvoice24, which published an article on this incident on March 9, 2021 with the headline “Drug trafficking under the guise of a pregnant woman, arrested 2”. Police have arrested two people in Roujan, Chittagong while smuggling drugs in a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw, disguised as a woman wearing a burqa. They were apprehended on Tuesday afternoon (March 9) on the Chittagong-Rangamati road, near the CMB Mosque in Raujan Municipality’s Jalil Nagar neighbourhood.
