In actuality, this is an old footage from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, when BJP candidate Dinesh Sharma was welcomed with a garland of shoes in January 2018 during his campaign for the civic body elections in Dhamnod. The video doesn’t relate to Haryana or the current “General Elections 2024” and is not recent. The video was uploaded in Youtube on Jan 8,2018. We visited Ndtv, which published an article on this incident on Jan 8, 2018 with the heading “BJP Candidate Greeted With Garland Of Shoes In Madhya Pradesh”. The incident took place when Dinesh Sharma, the BJP candidate for Dhamnod Civic election, was campaigning door-to-door to seek votes for his party. It added “A BJP candidate campaigning for the upcoming civic body elections in Madhya Pradesh was left embarassed after he was greeted with garland of shoes while campaigning in Dhamnod, a town in Dhar district situated around 272 km from state capital Bhopal.” “They are one of my own.
