Images of a Florida plane crash site are circulating, purporting to show that Access Bank CEO “Herbert Wigwe” , wife and son killed in Naples, Florida, while flying in their private plane.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @chichi18061991 tweeted “CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe and 4 others. The chopper crashed onto Interstate 75 near Naples around 3:15 p.m. ET, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. It collided with a vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. May their souls rest in peace” on Feb 11, 2024. The tweet has received an about 235.3k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @raviagrawal3, @drpenking, @Oneusefulguy made the same claim that CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe and 4 others died in a plane crash in Florida. The archive can be read from above.

The truth is that Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Bank in Nigeria, was reportedly among the six fatalities from a Friday night helicopter accident in the Mojave Desert of California. Rather than Florida, San Bernardino County, California, is where he was killed. The plane crash captured on shared video is a completely different video.
