Fact Check: Viral Video Is Not From Iran-Israel Conflict — It’s an Old Clip

A video showing individuals running during a roadside interview as a red alert siren blares is being shared with the false claim that an Israeli Knesset member fled mid-interview during an Iranian missile strike amid recent tensions. In reality, the footage is from October 2023 and has no connection to the current Israel-Iran situation.

An infueancer @iamSaharEmami, who posted this video and claiming to be the recent one:

“An Israeli Knesset member ran off mid-interview as Iranian missiles began to rain down. The camera kept rolling — so did the fear.”

Another account @soupalestina posted the same and claiming:

Membros israelenses do Knesset (parlamento) e o embaixador de Israel na ONU, Danny Danon, fogem desesperados no meio de uma entrevista no momento em que as sirenes são ativadas e os mísseis do Irã causam impacto direto em Israel.

Several users @mog_russEN and @IranMilitary_irhave amplified this misleading narrative, misrepresenting the old video to push false claims during heightened tensions in the Middle East.

Truth: Viral Video Is from 2023, Not Linked to Current Iran-Israel Tensions:

As this misleading claim spread across social media, the D Intent Data Team quickly starts the investigation. We conduct a reverse image searches and frame-by-frame video analysis. Also did some keyword research. Using reverse image search and frame-by-frame video analysis, we discovered that the video is not recent. we traced and found the article at Israel National News. The video is from October 2023 and is unrelated to current events. According to reports, it was recorded during a tour for ambassadors near the Sderot police station, led by MK Danny Danon, when a red alert siren sounded and attendees rushed for shelter. Additionally, the same video was posted in 2023 by the Twitter account @YaserAlyamani, further confirming that the clip predates the current Israel-Iran tensions.

Our investigation confirms that the viral video is unrelated to recent events and is being misused to push misleading narratives amid rising Middle East tensions.
