Fact Check: Viral Video Claiming Missile Explosion at Military Facility Is AI-Generated

A video is being widely shared online with the claim that it shows a sudden fire caused by an electrical leak inside a military facility, triggering a missile explosion and chaos across the base. The posts present the footage as a real military accident. This claim is false.

The AI-generated video was amplified by social media accounts including @Hawkss_eye, which shared the clip with a dramatic caption suggesting a real missile explosion at a military base.

Truth: Viral Missile Explosion Video Is AI-Generated, Not a Real Incident

As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research. Our investigation led us to “The Military Power Hub,” a Facebook page known for regularly uploading AI-generated military-themed videos designed to attract engagement. The same style, visual patterns, and animation inconsistencies appear across multiple videos posted by this page. A closer examination of the clip reveals several clear signs of artificial generation. In multiple frames, hands and fingers disappear or appear distorted during movement. The walking and running patterns of the uniformed individual look unnatural and mechanically inconsistent.

In one scene, the individual appears to run between two missiles placed unrealistically close together. Despite the narrow gap, the person’s jump shows his first foot landing beyond the missile before clearing it, which is physically impossible. These visual errors, combined with the source’s history of AI-generated content, confirm that the video does not depict a real military incident. No official military authority or credible media outlet has reported any such explosion.

Intent:

Propaganda accounts are circulating AI-generated videos without providing the actual information to get the spotlight on social media.
