Fact Check: AI-generated Image of a bride wearing short clothes during wedding ceremony circulated with false claims

An image featuring a woman, seemingly a bride, dressed in short clothing, has been circulating online, claiming that it is a real photograph from an Indian wedding ceremony. However, the truth is that this image is AI-generated. It does not represent an actual wedding or event.‍

Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @karishma_aziz97 wrote. “The ban on burqa and hijab is just to save this culture… The sisters of blind devotees are happy now”. (Translated from Hindi). Later, she deleted the post.

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also shared the photo and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @NidhiJhabihar, @balmukundjoshi, @Read_and_love, @swati_senger, @Capt_Cool1.

The truth about the viral image, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the image and found that the image was not a real-life situation but an AI-generated creation.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search using Google Lens. This led us to a Reddit post containing the same image along with several other similar images. The post was uploaded by a user “Son-Prodigal” in a subreddit called “DesiAdultfusion”.

Moreover, we found that when a user commented on the photos in the Reddit post, “Best use of AI”. Son-Prodigal responded and said, “Thank you”.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the viral image of the bride in short clothes is not a real-life situation but an AI-generated creation.
