FACT: A Muslim couple was threatened and prevented from watching the film, Kantara, at Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday afternoon. The couple, both college students belonging to Kerala and studying in KVG institutions, came to watch the film at Santhosh theatre.Seeing the girl’s hijab,nearby shopkeeper alerted Muslim youth who came and questioned the couple for watching the movie. The boy was assaulted by the group for watching Kantara,which as per complaint, attackers said was supporting Hindu culture Victim couple and accused belong to same religion.

INTENT: Religious extremists are sharing news with false claim, blaming other religion, trying to spread communal disharmony among religious groups in the country.
