Fact Check: China said, India’s occupation of Ladakh, Kashmir, and Arunachal will end soon?

Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda accounts are spreading false claims that China has stated India’s occupation of Ladakh, Kashmir, and Arunachal will end soon. However, there has been no such statement from the Chinese government recently. In fact, India and China have recently reached an agreement regarding their border situation, with both countries withdrawing troops from the Line of Actual Control (LAC), where tensions had previously escalated.

Making a post on X (Formerly Twitter) serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @SAnPerspective wrote, “China says Indian occupation of Ladakh, Kashmir and Arunachal will end soon.”

As soon as the posts containing the false claims made by the propagandists came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims and found no verified and credible sources supporting the claims.

To verify the claims made by the propagandists. We performed relevant keyword searches but couldn’t find any verified and credible sources supporting the claims. There has been no such statement from the Chinese government recently.

In fact, recent developments between India and China indicate a positive shift in their bilateral relations, especially concerning the border issue. Both countries have reached an agreement to ease tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). As part of this agreement, India and China have completed the process of troop disengagement in areas where they had previously been stationed in large numbers, reducing the risk of further conflict.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday responded to a query on the border agreement between India and China by Congress MP Manish Tewari in the Lok Sabha, saying the last of disengagement agreements between both sides pertained to Depsang and Demchok.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that China didn’t make any offensive statements regarding the relations between the two countries.
