Propaganda accounts on social media are falsely claiming that the United States has approved the sale of advanced AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles to Pakistan for its F-16 fighter jets. These posts allege that Pakistan is now the only country operating both U.S. and Chinese advanced military technologies and that the U.S. has cleared the sale of AIM-120D3 long-range missiles, giving Pakistan a major aerial edge over India. However, this claim is entirely false. The U.S. Embassy has officially denied any new missile sale to Pakistan, confirming that the mentioned contract only covers sustainment and spare parts for multiple partner countries — not new missile deliveries.
Several Propagandist Accounts such as @TacticalTribun, @ZardSi, @MansurQr, @rkmtimes, and @NavCom24 shared this misinformation, claiming that Pakistan’s air force was receiving upgraded missiles that could challenge India’s aerial capabilities. These posts were widely amplified across social media, with users and pages exaggerating the report to suggest a major U.S.-Pakistan defense shift — despite no credible confirmation from the U.S. government or defense industry sources.

Truth: U.S. Embassy Confirms No New Missile Sale to Pakistan
As this claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team immediately conduct investigation by doing a keyword analysis and using credible sources. Our investigation led us to the official statement released by the U.S. Embassy in India on October 10, 2025, titled “Clarifying Department of War Standard Contract Announcements.” According to the statement, the U.S. Department of War’s September 30 announcement referred only to an amendment to an existing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract related to sustainment and spare parts for several countries, including Pakistan.
The Embassy clearly stated:
“Contrary to false media reports, no part of this referenced contract modification is for deliveries of new Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) to Pakistan. The sustainment does not include an upgrade to any of Pakistan’s current capabilities.”

Additionally, no verified media outlet or U.S. defense document mentions the sale or approval of new AMRAAM missiles to Pakistan. The claim circulating online is, therefore, completely fabricated and misleading.
