As soon as the posts containing the visuals and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that the claims were not true.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a relevant keyword search on Google. This led us to media reports regarding the incident in Shegaon, Buldhana. According to the media reports, An incident has come to light in Shegaon city where the procession of Ganesh Visarjan was attacked. It is reported that stones were pelted by unknown persons on the Ganesh immersion procession due to a minor dispute in this area.
The video circulated on social media actually shows a post-stone-pelting incident initiated by members of a specific community. The Ganapati visarjan procession was proceeding peacefully until some extremists began throwing stones.
During research, we found that similar stone pelting incidents on Ganpati visarjan procession occurred in different parts of Buldhana.
Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the video is not an offensive act as portrayed by the propagandists. It was a retaliation against stone pelters.
