Fact Check: Indian Army’s vehicle met with an accident in Jammu and Kashmir, propagandists circulate false claims

False claims are being circulated by propagandists, alleging that three Indian soldiers were killed in an attack on an Indian Army vehicle near Zedkhusi Nallah in Jammu and Kashmir. In reality, the vehicle was involved in an accident while travelling from Bandipora to Gurez, which resulted in injuries to two soldiers. No fatalities occurred, and the claims of an attack are entirely baseless and misleading.

Sharing visuals from the incident on X (Formerly Twitter) Propagandist account @TacticalTribun wrote, “3 Indian soldiers killed after an Indian Army vehicle was targeted en route from Bandipora, the vehicle fell into a gorge near Zedkhusi Nallah, IOK”.

Another propaganda @Raad_Pak also made a post and wrote, Visuals aren’t very good from IOK. The Indian side claims the vehicle met with the accident, and was not targeted. But the vehicle got hammered as it’s visible after the accident.

The truth behind the claims from Jammu and Kashmir, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the visuals and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the incident and found that it was an accident, not a targeted attack.

To verify the claims made by the propagandists. We performed relevant keyword searches and found media reports regarding the incident. According to the reports (1, 2), An Army vehicle travelling from Bandipora towards Gurez met with an accident near Zedkhusi Nallah on Sunday, leaving two Army soldiers injured. Two Army soldiers were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in reportedly skidded off the road and rolled down approximately 50 feet into a gorge.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the vehicle was not attacked and no casualty was reported.
