A sensitive image depicting a masked man beheading an individual in full public view has been shared claiming that a 15-year-old boy was convicted by the Islamic State court in Iraq for the ‘crime’ of listening to music during prayer time. However, D-Intent Data has found that the image depicts ISIS executing an informant who provided false information about someone who had been wrongly accused and executed for supporting Assad’s regime.

The truth about the viral image about ISIS executed a 15-year-old boy, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the sensitive image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the image and incident. And found that the claims circulated on social media were not true.
To verify the claims made by the users, we performed a reverse image search on Google Lens. This led us to media reports containing the same image. According to a media report, the person in the image was an informant executed by ISIS after being found guilty of providing false information about someone who had been wrongly accused and executed for supporting Assad’s regime. The incident occurred in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, in 2016.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the viral image doesn’t depict an execution of a 15-year-old boy for listening to music. But it shows the execution of an informant after being found guilty of providing false information about someone who had been wrongly accused and executed.
