Fact Check: Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi assassinated in the recent Hezbollah attack on Israel?

Propagandists are circulating claims that the Chief of the General Staff of Israel, Herzi Halevi was assassinated in a recent Hezbollah attack on Israel. These assertions are false and fabricated, with no credible or official reports to back them up. Israeli media outlets confirm that these claims are merely baseless rumors. Additionally, the IDF has cited Halevi’s recent statements, further discrediting these allegations.

Serial fake news peddler and Hamas sympathizer account @DrLoupis made a post on X (Formerly Twitter) and wrote. “BREAKING Initial reports confirm the assassination of Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi”. The post has received more than 9 million views, 100k likes and a significant number of engagements.

Another propaganda account @drrpalestine has also made a post and wrote. Hezbollah Took revenge of Hassan Nassarullah Assassination. Israel Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi killed in Drone Attack by Hezbollah. Do you support Hezbollah or Israel.

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the claims. Their posts can be seen here, @SilentlySirs, @Resist_05, @jacksonhinklle, @NafiulRahin, @Nadira_ali12, @AsianUKNews, @Ayan8342

The truth behind the claims, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims and found that Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi is alive and monitoring the situation.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a relevant keyword search, this led us to an Israeli media report regarding the claims. According to the Israeli media, these claims are fake and fabricated. Moreover, we couldn’t find verified and credible sources supporting the claims.

Moreover, IDF made a post on X (Formerly Twitter) Yesterday, a UAV launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organization hit an army base. 4 IDF soldiers were killed in the incident. None of the identities was disclosed.

Additionally, a further post of the IDF has quoted Herzi Halevi’s statement. “We are at war, and an attack on a training base on the home front is difficult and the results are painful. You operated well to treat and evacuate the wounded and injured. Embrace the bereaved families, accompany the wounded, and strengthen the commanders and soldiers”. Hence, he is alive and monitoring the situation.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that these claims about Chief of the General Staff of Israel Herzi Halevi are nothing but propaganda against Israel.
