Fact Check: Old misleading news article about RSS organizing Samuhik Namaz in Ayodhya resurfaced on social media

There are claims that the RSS organized the first-ever grand Namaz and Quran recitation in Ayodhya on the banks of the sacred Saryu River in 2018. However, these claims are entirely false and misleading. At the time, similar reports emerged alleging the RSS’s involvement in such an event. In response, the RSS issued a statement, firmly stating, “The media reports that R S S is organizing Samuhik Namaz in Ayodhya are completely baseless and untrue.”

Sharing the old news article on X (Formerly Twitter) @madhukishwar wrote, I am shocked beyond words to learn that @RSSorg had organised the first ever grand Namaz and Quran recitation in Ayodhya on the banks of sacred river Saryu!. Are you equally shocked? Is it a case of #SameDNA? Or Slavish Genes?

Several other users and Influencers also disseminated the news report and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @MithilaWaala, @Wo_Sharma_Ji.

The truth behind the claims about RSS, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the news report and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims. We found that the report was from 2018 and not based on official sources.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a relevant keyword search and found the official statement on the X account of the RSS. In the statement, RSS stated, “The media reports, that RSS is organising Samoohik Namaj at Ayodhya is totally baseless and untrue. ” Sri Arun Kumar , Akhil Bharatiya Prachaar Pramukh.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that RSS didn’t organize any Samuhik Namaz and Quran recitation in Ayodhya in 2018.
