A video showing piles of used or discarded contraceptives in a compound is being shared with the claim that it was filmed at a girls’ PG in Delhi. The posts allege that the clip exposes immoral activities inside the hostel. However, our verification found that the video is not from India. The same footage had been previously uploaded online with claims linking it to Nigeria, and the person recording can be heard mentioning Nigeria in the original video.
Several social media accounts, including @BurmeeM, @ulffat__, @looteri_dulhan, and @liberal_monk, shared the video with derogatory captions and false claims targeting Indian women, amplifying the misinformation across platforms.

Truth: The video originates from Nigeria, not from any Delhi girls’ PG
As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and carried out keyword research to verify the source of the footage. Our investigation traced the same video to multiple Nigerian social media accounts. Instagram user @thepoisenga posted the clip with the caption, “Nigeria just got crowned the official Muegbesegbe HQ of the world — after 3 billion used condoms were reportedly found in a suckaway pit.” The same video was also found on TikTok (@owonikoko453) and Facebook (Konki), both identifying the incident as taking place in Nigeria.

In the original footage, the person filming explicitly mentions Nigeria, confirming the location. There is no credible or verified evidence to suggest that the footage was recorded in India or linked to any hostel or PG in Delhi.
