Fact Check: Pakistani propagandists circulate image of Indian national with misleading claims

Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda accounts are spreading an image of an Indian national with baseless claims alleging that Pakistani agencies have arrested a RAW spy named Ajit John Joshua in Balochistan for assisting BLA terrorists. Additionally, some Pakistanis assert that he is in Iran, collaborating with the BLA and orchestrating militant attacks on Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. However, these claims are entirely false and fabricated.

Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter), serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @TacticalTribun wrote, “Pakistani agencies have arrested a RAW spy Ajeet John Josha in Balochistan who was assisting BLA terrorists.

Another propaganda account, @Alpha_Intel7, also shared his image and wrote, “RAW Official Ajeet John Josha Identified in Iran. Ajeet John Josha, a senior RAW official who infiltrated as a foreign office employee in 2014, is currently in Iran. He recently met with BLA’s Bashir Zeb & Allah Nazar groups to plan terrorist activities along the Pak-Iran border.”

Several other Influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the images and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here: @Jan_Achakzai (2), @HamzaAzhrSalam, @SadiasOfficial, @PSYWAROPS.

The truth behind the claims about Indian national, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the images and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims. We found that these claims were false and self-invented.

To verify the claims made by propagandists. We performed relevant keyword searches and found Ajith John Joshua’s X (Formerly Twitter) account. Upon visiting his timeline, we noticed recent activity. He remains active on social media and even retweeted PM Modi’s post on X today (March 28, 2025). He is currently in India and has no involvement in the activities alleged by propagandists. Ajit John Joshua is actually a Regional Passport Officer (RPO) based in Bangalore. Additionally, the MEA spokesperson has also dismissed these false claims.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the claims made by propagandists were false and fabricated.
