The truth about the claims, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the claims and found that these claims were not true.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a relevant keyword search and found multiple reports (1, 2) regarding the area of Waqf Boards in India and the area of Pakistan. Verified sources indicate that Waqf Boards in India currently manage around 8.7 lakh properties, covering approximately 9.4 lakh acres, not square kilometers, with an estimated value of ₹1.2 lakh crore. This area is roughly 3,804 square kilometers, far from the exaggerated figure of 9.4 lakh square kilometers. In comparison, Pakistan’s total area is 881,913 square kilometers, making it over 231 times larger than the total area controlled by Waqf Boards in India.
Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data‘s Fact Check and verified sources that the area of Waqf Boards in India is 9.4 lakh acres, not sq km.
