Fact Check: Russian media reports that India can lose its BRICS membership due to its relations with the West?

Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda accounts have been spreading false claims that Russian media reported India could lose its BRICS membership due to its growing ties with the West. However, these claims are completely unfounded. No credible or prominent Russian media outlet has published any such report, and there is no official indication of India’s BRICS membership being in question.

Making a post on X (Formerly Twitter) serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @SAnPerspective wrote, “Russia media reports that India can loose its BRICS membership due to relations with the West.”

The truth behind the claims about BRICS membership, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims and found that these claims were false and fabricated.

To verify the claims made by the propagandists. We performed relevant keyword searches but couldn’t find any credible sources supporting these claims.

In fact, we found reports regarding Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Moscow. According to a report, during his recent visit to Moscow, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized, “Despite geopolitical challenges and great pressure both in public and in private, India has made a conscious decision to not only continue its close engagement with Russia but also to deepen and expand the cooperation.”

Ironically, Pakistan itself is facing severe economic instability and is on the brink of collapse, blaming the IMF for its self-inflicted crisis.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the claims are false and fabricated. No such reports came to light.
