As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that the accused was not an Indian but a US man.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed relevant keyword searches and reverse image searches of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. These actions led us to several media reports regarding the incident.
According to the media reports (1, 2), the accused, Deobra Redden, is a U.S. citizen. He attacked Judge Mary Kay Holthus in a courtroom in Las Vegas, in January 2024.
As per the reports, a man who assaulted a Las Vegas judge this year when he jumped over the bench and knocked her into a wall has been sentenced to up to 65 years in prison, according to his defense attorney.
