A disturbing video has been circulating on social media video of goats being thrown from truck not from UP onto the road. The video has been shared with the claim that it is from Uttar Pradesh, where a gang of thieves is stealing goats on the Kanpur-Unnao highway. However, this claim is false.

Inspection of Video

On closer inspection of the video, we can see a signboard on the highway indicating the distance to Aurangabad (~210 KM), Sinner (~63 KM), and Ghoti (~2 KM). Google Maps also shows the same distances between these locations. Therefore, the video is actually from the Igatpuri-Sinner road in Maharashtra, not Uttar Pradesh.

The video has caused outrage among animal rights activists, who have been demanding action against the perpetrators. The act of throwing the goats from the truck is not only cruel but also illegal. It is a violation of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1976.
