Fact Check: Viral Gaza Skateboard Explosion Video is Digitally Altered

A video circulating on social media shows a skateboarder in Gaza performing a trick over what appears to be an unexploded missile, which then explodes mid-air. Propagandist and Influencer accounts like @SaffronSunanda@ShirionOrg@HamasAtrocities, @Warlock_Shubh, and @LionsOfZion_ORG shared the clip with captions implying it is a real explosion, portraying the situation in Gaza as chaotic and reckless. For example, one post reads:
“Just GAZA FAFO things.”

Truth about Gaza skateboard explosion video

As this video and claim came to our attention, the D-Intent Data team began investigating it. Through reverse image search and verification, we traced the original video to the Team Skate Gaza Instagram account. The explosion shown in the viral clip was digitally added. In the original footage, no explosion occurs—the skateboarder lands the trick safely and makes a peace gesture afterward. The edited version was created to raise awareness about the dangers of unexploded ordnance in conflict zones, not to depict an actual incident.

This video has been falsely presented as a real-life explosion to generate outrage and engagement. In reality, it is a digitally altered awareness clip, not footage of an actual event.

Intent:

Influencers are circulating digitally edited videos with misleading claims to gain attention and push emotional narratives surrounding the Gaza conflict.
