Fact Check: Viral Video Claiming Yogi Adityanath Threatened Bangladesh Is Fake

Pakistani propaganda accounts are circulating a digitally altered video of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, falsely claiming that he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to either attack Bangladesh or resign. The same clip also alleges that Yogi Adityanath made threatening remarks against Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. These claims are completely false and fabricated. The viral video has been digitally manipulated, and the statements attributed to the Chief Minister do not appear in the original footage.

The manipulated clip was shared by Pakistani propaganda accounts @TelegraphPak@KazmiWajahat, @ZardanSi, @FariyalBD, and other users including @EnkiduBornAgain, @jashim4truth, and @Asadrchaudhry. These accounts falsely portrayed the video as evidence that Yogi Adityanath threatened a sovereign country during a speech in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

Truth: Original ANI Footage Shows No Call for Military Action

As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research. We closely analysed the viral clip by examining lip movements, facial expressions, hand gestures, and audio synchronisation. This review revealed clear signs of digital manipulation. Tracing the visuals led us to the official ANI footage of Yogi Adityanath’s speech in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. In the original video, the Chief Minister speaks about the mob lynching of a Hindu Dalit man in Bangladesh and criticises political silence on attacks against minorities. He urges condemnation of the incident and raises concerns about illegal immigration and voter registration issues.

Importantly, Yogi Adityanath does not call for an attack on Bangladesh, does not ask the Prime Minister to resign, and makes no remarks about Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. The viral video selectively edits and distorts his words to create a false narrative.

Intent:

Propaganda accounts are circulating digitally altered videos of Indian politicians with self-invented claims to set their narrative against India.
