FACT: A video is being circulated on social media with various claims in which a group of women can be seen beating up a man with sticks, A user shared video with implications, Muslim man was circulating morphed pictures of Hindu women, so thrashed.(Another user shared video with similar claim and said two Muslim guy misbehaved with Hindu girls so Hindu women beat up Muslim man. Many users sharing the video with different claims but fact is that the viral video is from Kerala’s Irinjalakuda (A town in Thrissur district)Where a man named Shaji had cut ties with the Zion retreat centre under the Emperor Emmanuel Church. When Shaji and his family passed by in a car, the women blocked the vehicle, dragged Shaji out and assaulted him. They also damaged the car’s windshield. Police have arrested 11 women with charges including attempt to murder. The incident happened at Kapparakkadavu area Muriyad.
INTENT: Religious extremists sharing video with false claim and trying to create communal disharmony among religious groups in the country.
