Fact: A retarded lady was assaulted on suspicion of child stealing. In Meerut, there have been several kidnappings in recent months. This occurred when a retarded woman began taunting & playing with few children returning from the forest. They got terrified and made noice about the woman being a child lifter. The villagers then went towards the forest as soon as they heard the noise of a child thief, grabbed the woman who was roaming there, and beat her up.
