Real Truth About the Incident : Fact
In reality, this is an old clip from 2019 showing a Gaza sniper hitting an IDF officer in the helmet. There is no proof that Netanyahu’s nephew has passed away, despite reports from pro-Palestine media.
IDF Staff Sgt. Yair Nifousy, 20, of the 101st Battalion of Paratroopers from Adi, passes away in Gaza, according to the Times of Israel. But, it did not confirm that he was the nephew of the Prime Minister.
We further visited Times of Israel to get more information on the incident. The article was published on Feb 3,2019. The company commander of the Paratroopers Brigade was shot on January 22 during a riot near the southern Gaza border by a gunman affiliated with the terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is supported by Iran. The officer’s helmet was impacted by the bullet, sparing his life.
The cop is seen shooting with his rifle from a berm across from the Gaza border in the video that Al-Mayadeen released. A moment later, there is a loud bang followed by the sight of the sniper’s bullet striking the serviceman’s helmet and creating a plume of smoke and broken glass. After that, he grabs his head and hides.
