Old Military Convoy Attack Video Falsely Linked to BLA’s Recent Strike on Pakistan Army

A dramatic video showing a military convoy coming under heavy fire is being widely shared on social media with the claim that it captures a recent Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attack on the Pakistani military dated May 6, 2025. However, the video actually shows a Houthi military drill and has been online since at least March 2024, making the claim completely false.

Some propagandist accounts @SaffronSunanda and @ocjain4 share this misleading claim:

BLA released a video of their attack on Pakistan Army convoy on 6th May. Reportedly 7-14 Pak Army men HOORIFIED.

Several users @GallopingMo, @Ltcolonelvikas and @Srdmk01 have circulated this footage to mislead viewers and stir public sentiment. And Later, @Srdmk01 deleted the post.

Truth Behind the Viral Convoy Attack Clip:

When this viral clip gained attention, the D-Intent Data Team immediately launched an investigation. Through frame-by-frame analysis and reverse image search, we traced the video back to at least March 2024, where it was found posted on both YouTube and Facebook. The description and context in those uploads indicate that the footage shows a military drill conducted by the Houthi group, simulating attacks on Israeli positions and targeting U.S. and British forces. These visuals appear to be part of pre-recorded exercises and have no connection to the BLA or any recent clashes involving the Pakistani military.

The footage is not recent, and the claim is entirely misleading.

Intent:

Influencers and propaganda accounts are sharing old military drill footage with false narratives to mislead the public and generate engagement through controversy.
