MP Election — Digitally Altered Video Of ABP News C-Voter Survey Projecting Victory Of Congress Party In MP Assembly Election 2023: Fact-Check

A few days ago, a video surfaced on social media allegedly showcasing an altered ‘C-voter’ survey by ABP News, projecting a significant win for the Congress party in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly election. The video suggested a victory with 150–158 MLAs for the Congress. However, our investigation reveals this video was manipulated, misrepresenting the actual survey conducted by ABP News.

The fake news was mainly spread by @IJaved007, @INCKishoreDewas, and @VishnuBhop30747. In addition, all of them are associated with or support the Congress party.

The Real Story of Altered ABP News Survey

The original video was from the C-voter survey conducted by ABP News in June 2023. The survey predicted a majority for the BJP in the upcoming election. Moreover, ABP News journalist @brajeshabpnews clarified on Twitter that no such survey selecting Congress was conducted. In addition, the actual video can be found on the official YouTube channel of ABP News.

In conclusion, political workers from the opposition circulated this digitally altered video of the ABP Survey with false claims to influence the upcoming assembly election in Madhya Pradesh. In other words, by spreading false claims, they aimed to create a narrative against the BJP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, potentially influencing the election dynamics. This digitally altered video, misleadingly portraying Congress’s victory, reveals a disturbing trend. Following comprehensive analysis and fact-checking, our team has investigated the claim. You can refer to the findings of this inquiry in the Twitter thread embedded below.

Claim: A video of the ABP News ‘C-voter’ survey projects the Congress party’s victory in the MP assembly election in 2023.
