What is the Actual Truth About the Video? : Fact

The incident in question occurred in 2019, involving a 9-year-old accused boy.

The nine-year-old boy in the video, Zain Abdeen Ashraf Idriss, was accused of throwing stones at soldiers before leaving for school that morning. An operation to arrest Zain was carried out by soldiers inside the school. Later in the day, he was set free.

Gulf News published an article on this incident with the headline “Video: Israeli army arrest boy, 9, from school goes viral” on March 26, 2019. The same image was attached from the video with the caption “An Israeli army soldier is seen grabbing the 9-year-old boy from school after the boy allegedly threw stones at them.”

The viral video shows the army entering inside Hebron school to arrest a boy suspected of throwing stones. The boy’s teachers tried to stop the arrest at the door of the classroom.

The video, which was posted on YouTube on March 20, 2019, went viral at first because people assumed the boy was the brother of martyr Omar Abu Layla.

Omar stabbed an Israeli, stole his car, and then attacked a group of Israeli soldiers, killing two and injuring several others. The Israeli army later killed Omar.

Later, it was revealed that the video was of someone else. First of all, the video was shot on March 18, the day before Omar was killed. The school in the video is in Hebron, but Omar is from somewhere else. The soldiers accused the boy in the video, identified as Zain Abdeen Ashraf Idriss, 9, of throwing stones at them before going to school that day.
