A video purporting to be from the recent Earthquake in the Philippines features a Sea storm and huge waves.

TheWeekend (“@NEONKLT“) tweeted on X claiming that following a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in the Philippines, Japan issued a tsunami alert. The user also asked other users to Pray for the Philippines and Japan after the incident went viral. The tweet was made on Dec 2, 2023.

Several other accounts, including @karancryptos, MEER YASIR (“@MEERYAS89043078“), @Pooja4C, Sanjay Kumar (“@Sanjay_4M“) claimed the same that A 7.6-magnitude earthquake that struck the Philippines prompted Japan to issue a tsunami alert. The archive can be read from above.

This video is actually from Russia, where  recently, a huge storm in the Black Sea has destroyed Russian defences in Crimea and severely damaged the major port city of Sochi on Russia’s western coast.

Disaster Tracker (“@DisasterTrackHQ“) clarified on X that the footage is of the massive waves, caused by Storm Bettina in Sochi, Russia. The incident took place on November 27, 2023.
