Philippines Earthquake — 17th November Video Showing Crane Falling From Top of the Building Linked To Earthquake on December 2nd 

Videos purporting to be from the recent Earthquake in the Philippines are making the rounds on the social media. Many have claimed that the footage is from December 2nd, showing the crane falling from top of the building due to the severe Earthquake in Phillippines.

Verified accounts on twitter, including Troll Mafia (“@offl_trollmafia“) made the claim on X that the video footage is from inside the mall in #Philippines during an Earthquake. The tweet was made on Dec 3, 2023, which has received an about 29.5k views on X.

Several other accounts, including Gautam Verma (“@IamGautamVarma“), NOAH (“@noahwarpress“), @karancryptos made the same claim that the recent footage shows Philippines earthquake in a construction site. The archive can be read from above.

These videos are from last month, on November 17, 2023, in the Philippines, when an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 was reported. There is no connection between the video and the recent earthquakes in Indonesia and the Philippines.

We visited sky news, which published an article on Nov 17, 2023 related to this incident with the headline “Philippines: Shopping centre ceilings collapse as island nation hit by powerful undersea earthquake”.

An article was also published by BBC News, which also clarified that the incident in the month of November. The article was published on November 19, 2023.
