What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this video depicts thousands of Israelis rallying on Saturday night, December 9, 2023, in the central Tel Aviv, calling on Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to negotiate the release of all  remaining hostages from the Gaza Strip who have been detained by Hamas for over 60 days. It is not related to his resignation, at all. Infuriated Israelis called for new negotiations with Hamas in order to free the captives.

azeforum published an article on this incident on Oct 12, 2023 with the headline “Discontent with Netanyahu continues in Israel video”.

The video was also shared on Dec 9, 2023 with the caption “Thousands of Israelis gathered at a rally in central Tel Aviv demanding that Benjamin Netanyahu’s government negotiate for the release of all remaining hostages from the Gaza Strip, who have been held captive by Hamas for more than 60 days.”

D-Intent’s Fact-Checking Results:

Intent:

Misinformation propaganda accounts are circulating videos with false claims to set their propaganda against Israel. A video purporting to show a large crowd in the street is making the rounds, and it purports that Israelis are protesting against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and calling for his resignation, opposing the oppression of Palestinian people. But, after proper research, analysis and fact-checking, we have discovered that the video, which was taken on Saturday night, December 9, 2023, in central Tel Aviv, depicts thousands of Israelis rallying and calling on Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to negotiate the release of all hostages who are still in the Gaza Strip and have been detained by Hamas for over 60 days. His resignation has nothing to do with it. Nonetheless, Tel Aviv recently saw protests following the Israeli Defence Forces’ December 15 mistake that resulted in the deaths of three hostages in Gaza. Israelis furious with Hamas demanded new negotiations in order to free the captives.

Conclusion:

Fact : This video shows thousands of Israelis rallying in central Tel Aviv on Saturday night 9 December 2023, demanding that Benjamin Netanyahu’s government negotiate the release of all remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip, who have been held captive by Hamas for more than 60 days. It is not related to his resignation. However, protests erupted in Tel Aviv after the Israeli Defence Forces mistakenly killed three hostages in Gaza on December 15. Angry Israelis demanded new talks with Hamas to release captives.
