A video purporting to show a syndicate bomb blast originates in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @ajaychauhan41 tweeted “A dangerous blast has taken place in Keshtopur, West Bengal. Indian government should investigate who is the creator of this bomb syndicate? Who are the suppliers? Who is behind this bomb syndicate?”. The tweet was made on Dec 22, 2023, which has received an about 27.2k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @Sudhir_mish also made the same claim that a massive “blast” took place in Keshtopur, West Bengal. The user asked to investigate further after questioning that who created the blast Syndicate. The archive can be read from above.

The truth is that, on Thursday afternoon, a gas cylinder explosion caused a fire in the busy Kestopur neighbourhood off VIP Road. It is unrelated to bomb blast.
