Old Video Of Crowded Train From Bangladesh Falsely Claimed To Be From India: Fact-Check 

A purportedly Indian video featuring people riding on the top a train is making the rounds.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @AsianDigest tweeted “Bhaiiye Pajeet from UP and Bihar going to Punjab and South India”. The tweet was made on Feb 29, 2024, which has received an about 32k views on X.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

The truth is that this footage was taken in Bangladesh, where on the occasion of Eid in 2022, a sizable crowd was observed riding  on top a train. India is not involved in this at all.

We visited dailymail.co.uk, which published an article on this incident on May 13, 2022 with the headline “And you thought YOUR commute was bad! Extraordinary scenes as thousands pack onto the world’s busiest train… and they were coming back from holidays”.

Pakistan-based Propaganda accounts are circulating old videos from Bangladesh claiming to be from India to set their anti-India propaganda. A video that shows people traveling on the top of a train is being circulated, claiming to be from India. The video originates from Bangladesh, where a large crowd was observed celebrating Eid in 2022 on top of a train. India is not relevant to this at all.

Conclusion:

Fact : The fact is that this video is from Bangladesh,where a vast crowd was seen traveling on the top of a train on the occasion of Eid in 2022. It has nothing to do with India.
