According to a disturbing video that has gone viral, a Muslim man in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, violently attacked a Hindu sadhu while the victim was dressed in saffron.

@usernameofnik added “30 March: A Muslim brutally attacked a Hindu Sadhu in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.” in a twitter post regarding this incident. He quoted the tweet made by @Shubham_fd. The tweet was made on March 30, 2024.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

The truth is that these assertions are unfounded and fraudulent. It is unrelated to hate crimes based on religion. The suspects have reportedly been identified as two brothers, Gabis and Rajesh, who beat up the Sadhu (Gajraj Singh) while intoxicated. The victim and the accused got into a disagreement, according to the police. After the two accused were taken into custody, further actions were taken.

We visited amarujala, which published an article on this incident on March 30, 2024 with the headline “Aligarh News: Alcoholics beat up a Sadhu and injured him, the accused were sent to jail”. A monk was severely beaten and thrown to the ground by two brothers who were intoxicated. The beating caused the monk’s injuries. The police apprehended both of the accused after receiving a complaint from the monk. The accused received a jail sentence. Sadhu Gajraj Singh, son of Lekhraj Singh, has long made his living by begging at Gangiri intersection. He lives in the village of Sukanna Berampur, near the Harduaganj police station in Aligarh. On March 29, in the late evening, Sadhu was waiting at the petrol pump at Gangiri intersection when Gabis and Rajesh, the Ramkhiladi family’s sons and inhabitants of Majhola village, arrived after consuming alcohol.The Sadhu was severely beaten and injured by both of them. CCTV footage of the entire incident was taken. Both the two young people and the monk continued to beat him. In response to a complaint from Sadhu Gajraj, the police detained Gabis and Rajesh on March 30. They were both jailed for disturbing the peace.
