What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact
The truth is that this is an old video from Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, where three minors were found stealing from a shop and the police punished them cruelly and in an inhumane manner. The incident occurred in May of 2021. It has nothing to do with hate crimes driven by religion.Furthermore, the teenagers’ identities were kept a secret. So, the claim that Indian police assaulted Muslims because of their identity and the cops beat three youths with sticks because of this is not true at all. We visited jagran, which published an article on this incident on May 2, 2021 with the headline “Outpost in-charge and constable, who brutally beat children in Chandauli, suspended, ASP directed to investigate the case and submit report.” SP Amit Kumar suspended Kalawar outpost in-charge Shivanand Verma and head constable Dilip Kumar for brutally beating three minor children caught on charges of theft in a shop. On Saturday, three children had gone into the Mathela village grocery store. He was captured by the storekeeper and notified the police about the alleged theft. The head constable and the Kalavar outpost in-charge eventually arrived at the location. They severely beat the children instead of going to the police station and filing a lawsuit. Someone created a video at this period, and it quickly went viral on the internet. There was fear in the department on Sunday when word of the viral video leaked out. The SP was instructed by IG SK Bhagat to look into the matter and take necessary action. The SP immediately removed the head constable and post in-charge after finding prima facie evidence of inhumane treatment.
