FACTCHECK: “Tragedy Strikes as 16 Indian Army Soldiers Perish in Bus Accident in North Sikkim”

ANALYSIS: Misleading

Many users sharing images unknowingly from different old incidents connecting recent road accident in Sikkim, in which 16 soldiers lost their lives. A user shared old image from Ladakh Army vehicle accident, claiming to be from Sikkim accident.A user shared images claiming to be from recent road accident in Sikkim but fact is that 2nd image is from Srinagar-Leh highway near Zojila, Ladakh. And 3rd image is an old images from Sikkim(2020) but nothing to do with recent accident.Old images from Pakistan bus accident in 2019 being circulated too claiming to be from Sikkim road accident.We request all our followers kindly do not spread any misinformation regarding this unfortunate accident.
